1. What is coaching?
Coaching is a transformational tool to help a client achieve their personal and professional goals. In a sessions, the coach is mainly asking questions and helping the client have clarity about what he or she wants to do and set milestones and deadlines to achieve his or her goal.
2. How long does a coaching session last?
One session takes about 1 hour.
3. How many sessions must I take?
I would suggest a minimum of 4 sessions and a maximum of 6 sessions. Once you have a clear picture how to achieve your goal, you do not need coaching anymore as it requires action on your part to move forward.
4. Isn't coaching like therapy?
Coaching isn't therapy or counselling. Coaching provides help for people who know roughly what they want to achieve but have trouble starting or are confused by too many ideas running in their head. Coaching focusses you to move forward and does not deal with past traumas that have trapped you mentally and emotionally, which needs professional help to overcome.
5. How do I know coaching will help me?
There are no guarantees that coaching will help you but it might give you some idea of how to move forward in your life. Best way to know if coaching is for you, is for us to talk/meet so I can explain the process and do a short coaching demo with you so you have an idea of what a coaching session will be like. After that, the decision is yours on what you wish to do.
6. What if I don't feel comfortable with you as my coach?
That is perfectly fine as both parties have to be comfortable with each other, hence I always have an introductory meeting first to see if we both are a right fit for each other.
7. Will what I share be kept private?
Yes it will. One of the key commitments in all coaching sessions is the confidentiality of the information shared. Confidentiality is paramount in coaching.
